Comments from kids about Wild Horses and Burros!
Name : Shaylah
Age: 6
City: Haysville
State: Kansas
Shaylah loves horses and rides one at a friends home.
When she learned there are
wild horses and burros, she asks me this:
" who takes care of them?"
Well, that answer took some
time to explain and her words to me were,
" Well, if they can't take care of them good, then someone
else should."
Just as she feels if a private person can't treat an animal right,
she says, "Well,
then, they should not be allowed to have an animal."
This poem was submitted by a young gal that has formed her own group to fight for horses!
Her name is Libby. She even has a blog and has written her own petition for horse welfare!
Unending unfairness
Had to raise awareness
A rose of a servant
Have become fervent
To end the abuse
Trying to look at the views
From our greatest teacher
The wonderful creature
The horse,
feeling of love
Gentle as a dove
Yet still hurt and scarred
Trying so hard
To ask us why
They pass
odds and try
Listening to the cries
Barriers will be overcome and fought
They will no longer be distraught
Will fight till
There is a fleeting sign
Point of impact:
This heart of mine.
God Bless,
Libby
